WHO IS BARRY MCCLUSKEY?
A Blind Golfer with a Vision
I began playing blind golf in 2018 after being diagnosed with a condition called Keratoconus. This caused a general deterioration in my sight before I was eventually registered blind in 2018. I have played golf for many years and was devastated that I may never play again when I became visually impaired.
However, through discussions with my Doctor I discovered Blind Golf Scotland. Initially I began playing visually impaired golf to help me deal with and accept the loss of my sight but from there my passion grew, not only for the game but my desire to raise awareness of blind golf and encourage other visually impaired people to take up the sport.
