Tommaso Perrino watched with wonder as his good friend and compatriot, Francesco Molinari, became a trailblazing Champion Golfer of the Year at Carnoustie in 2018.
Now the 39-year-old is hoping for his own silver lining when he goes for glory in the inaugural G4D Open at Woburn’s Duchess Course this week (10 – 12 May).
The championship, held in partnership between The R&A and the DP World Tour and supported by EDGA (formerly the European Disabled Golf Association), will be one of the most inclusive ever staged, featuring nine sport classes across multiple impairment groups.
The 54-hole stroke play event will feature competitors from 19 different countries, including eight of the top-ten players on the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), with spectators welcome to attend free of charge.
